Development
Dwayne E. Heard is the administrative vice president of SERVE
Holdings, LLC. Under his supervision are the departments of finance
& human resources, benefits & insurance; as well as "special
projects" such as current restaurant remodel projects. Another
primary function is that of information & communications support to
other departments within SERVE, such as interfacing with operations,
development, and the training department as needed. Heard also sits,
with the other managing partners, as a member of the Board of
Directors.
Heard has over 20 years of experience in the areas of restaurant and
business development. Since 1979, he has worked in various segments
of business operations including quality control, restaurant
management, training management, and executive management with
multi-unit and multi-market responsibilities.
As an associate of the Checkers Double Drive Thru concept in
Chicago, Heard participated in opening two of the highest volume
restaurants in the brand's system before moving to Atlanta to become
part of the dynamic and progressive Checkers development group. This
is where he met and worked with Clarence Mitchell, Robb Hunter, and
Noble Benefield and became part of the core team that built fourteen
restaurants within eighteen months between the Atlanta and
Philadelphia markets with annual average unit sales in excess of
$1.5 million dollars.
Heard left Checkers to pursue other personal opportunities, which
included founding the Atlanta Franchise Development Company – a
restaurant management and development company based in Atlanta
designed to acquire and operate one hundred Church's Chicken
locations in nine different markets with over 1800 employees. He
held the role of president and C.E.O. and was responsible for
day-to-day management as well as reporting to the Board of Directors
and the involved funding providers. Heard performed his services for
the company and subsequently made a decision to pursue other
professional endeavors which led him to become part of SERVE
Holdings, LLC.
